Ithaa, which means mother-of-pearl in Dhivehi, is an undersea restaurant located 5 meteres below sea level.
Ithaa was the world’s first underwater restaurant and it caters to a maximum of 14 patrons at any given time. The panoramic view allows you to dine while watching thousands of fish swim around them, all without getting their feet wet. Ithaa isn’t a place for diners who are just seeking a casual romantic dining experience and unless you’re staying at the restaurant’s hotel, you have to pay extra charges for the sea transfers.
