The Festival de Cannes has been celebrating cinema for more than 70 years. Over this time, the Association Francaise du Festival International du Film has been able to change whilst keeping the essence of the Festival: a passion for cinema, the discovery of new talents and the enthusiasm of festival-goers and professionals from the whole world who come to contribute to the making and distribution of films. Filmmakers from more than 120 countries visit the festival in order to share their opinions about the cinema today and tomorrow. Cinema fans have the opportunity to dive into the world of cinema by attending different kinds of events, exhibitions, and masterclasses with celebrities. The Festival de Cannes is a unique event in the world of cinematography in terms of its impact on the world’s cinema production and media attention it attracts. The films demonstrated during the festival differ in genres and are presented in many sections, for example, Competition, Out of Competition films, Special Screenings, Midnight Screenings, Cannes Classic, and Cinéfondation selection of films. As the festival is invitation-only, the VIP tickets for the opening and closing ceremonies and parties are available in the limited edition. Also, during the festival, there are plenty of screens opened for the public where a new film is being demonstrated every night. This creates a strong link between the filmmakers and the audience.
